More Nullarbor - 12th July

After seeing the Old Telegraph Station we headed west. The beautiful clear sky didn't last and within an hour we had driven into cloud and rain. We passed through a refuelling stop and roadhouse called Caiguna which claims to be the hub of the Universe. If the Universe does indeed revolve around this "hub" then I have pity on us all. We managed to find a break in the rain for a roadside lunch stop.  After lunch the rain really arrived and the Nullarbor quickly become puddled and passing oncoming roadtrains gave the car a solid drenching and the windscreen a complete whiteout. Late in the afternoon the wind and rain drove us to take refuge about 100km east of a town called Norseman at an old sheep station called Fraser Range Station. The station has been converted into accommodation for travellers and work crews (mainly mining/drilling) working nearby. The five of us spent the night squeezed in a double room in the old shearing shed that had been converted into accommodation.

On the road again

The Hub of the Universe.

Our room was at the end of this old converted shearing shed at Fraser Range Station
