Streaky Bay

After leaving Renmark we drove to Port Augusta. We had to pack up a wet tent and re-organise our trailer/car packing and were later than desired leaving. Ready to drive, with all passengers strapped in, and came across  a major problem. Car keys were missing. we had just packed a tent up - were they still in the tent. We had just repacked the trailer - were they in the trailer somewhere. First step was to search the car. Plan was to get everyone out and take everything out. Jasper was ordered out first and after managing his expression of how unfair this all was we finally got him to agree (?) to getting out of his seat. Problem solved !!! There were the keys on his seat - he had been sitting on them. The landscape on the drive started being dry with low lying scrub and very little visible land use. It then changed to lush green pastures and crops.
Drive was relatively uneventful. Did go thru a small town, Kimba, that claims to be half way across Australia. I question the authenticity of its claim - if true we have come further than we think.

Stayed in a camping/basic rooms/communal kitchen etc property called Nuttbush about 40km west of Port Augusta.
One night there and headed for Streaky Bay. Weather turned sour and rain set in. We arrived at Streaky Bay about 4pm and made our way to a our desired camping area about 15km out of town, 10km was unsealed and the Tarago got a workout. On arrival we found only a handful of campsites, all deserted. Had to put up a wet tent in the rain. Imogen was brilliant entertaining the boys in the car whilst Mum and Dad tackled poles, pegs, ropes and zips in the rain.
Morning weather was trying to be better. Drove to see the sealions at Point Labatt however the road was closed due to rain. Drove on to Murphy's Haystacks. Loved 'em. Back to tent for spag bol for dinner. Next day weather was superb. Went on Cape Bauer Loop road to Whistling Rocks and Blowholes. Rocks were whistling however blowholes were not blowing as sea was picturesque calm.
Now Tues 9 July and in Ceduna on our way to Fowler's Bay. Camera out of charge will post photos when possible.
